Suze Orman was a prominent, perky personality that I got to know recently. She made my trip to Kuala Terengganu seem a little more hopeful. She was a good distraction. And I am sure that CNBC feels the same about her, because she hosts her own show on primetime American television, counselling a nation beleaguered by debt on ways to get out of debt. (By the way, I don't know her personally, only through the cable TV that was playing in the hotel room as the cold, dank Terengganu monsoon winds lashed rain on my window.)
Today, as I visited her website (www.suzeorman.com), I was pleasantly surprised to discover that her new book -- Suze Orman's 2009 Action Plan: Keeping Your Money Safe and Sound -- is available for free download on Oprah Winfrey's website. Imagine that: two famous talk show hosts co-operating. For mileage, fame, and maybe even the noble idea of sisterhood. That's one thing that our local Malaysian artistes and talk show hosts can learn to do. But that's not the highlight of today. The highlight is the book. Click here to download the Suze Orman's wonderful new book. The download link expires by midnight, tonight -- American time. Or you could get it here. (direct link)
What is covered in Suze Orman's book? Basically lots of action plans for different scenarios that many people may face in this year -- or any other year -- of challenge after challenge. In any nation, the economy is the lifeline and the heartbeat. When the economy spirals out of control, finger-pointing begins. Browsing through the book, it is evident that Suze Orman's book is addressed to the middle aged person, whose concerns may hinge on, and derive from, his or her employment. Topics for these wonderful action plans include: credit, retirement investing, saving, spending, real estate, paying for college, and protecting one's family and one's self.

Visit Suze Orman's website here. (Note how the title for the page describes her as an "internationally acclaimed personal finance expert".)
Get it while you still can!
