cheers with peers
drinking beer
without the fear
my drunken leer
would bring me tears.
in dim light, sodden mugs
and expressions smug
we proceed to chug
down a whole jug --
but then the bug
bites, and the spark
ignites the drinking lark
in all of us.
suddenly i feel like an aardvark
protruding his snarky snout
into another bout
of drunkenness
no better than a lout.
