Fo Guang Shan

This post regards a certain Buddhist temple in Jenjarom, modelled on a famous Buddhist Temple in Taiwan. The one in Jenjarom is called "Dong Zen Temple" (东禅寺) whereas the one in Taiwan is called "Fo Guang Shan" (佛光山). But the one in Jenjarom strives to be like the one in Taiwan, therefore it gets called "Fo Guang Shan" too.

Perhaps I won't get to go. Probably, I'll be engaged in the elections, somehow. :) I heard that it's really nice at night. But anyway, for the sake of memory.... Links for those who are looking for information:

I decided to upload a map that I found on the FGS website so that it will be of use to me in the future. Amazingly enough, it's stated that it takes only 40 minutes from Petaling Jaya and 30 minutes from Klang....

A Little Lunchtime Tattoo

Someone sent me this funny link: www.tatuagemdaboa.com.br. It made me laugh out loud! It's Brazilian, but humour is universal.

Instructions:

  1. Wait until the picture of the lady appears.
  2. There will be a form. Wait for it.
  3. Fill your first name in the first line. (Can be a fake one)
  4. Fill your surname in the second line. (Can be a fake one)
  5. No need to fill in your email.
  6. Click "VISUALIZAR".

Don't worry, it's not a prank. I know some websites like to play a cute clip and suddenly, out comes a scary picture of a vampire or a zombie! Well, this one's a funny site, out to make you laugh. Give it a go.

So, don't forget to vote!

ever so wistful

ever so wistful,
my pretty lady sighs.
once she was more blissful,
then she became my wife.

gone were the days
when she could frolic free.
long nights and weekends
were to be spent with me.

ever so hopeful,
i take her gentle hand.
could i make her smile
in another land?

one day gray and old
we'll pack our bags and go.
life is ever beautiful
where a new wind blows.

one day in the future
i will hear happy cries.
and she will be blissful
beside me as my wife.

elections are coming

elections are coming--
politicians will rise
to seek your vote:
make sure they heed your cries

for tax relief
and lowered inflation
a ceiling price of sugar
and rice and other rations...

but how do you gauge
the performance of the man
unless you vote him in
and let him show he can?

garden gnome

if your partner goes out late
while you must stay at home
then s/he is like a superstar
and you a garden gnome

dare you speak your thoughts
or words within your heart?
aren't you a feeling bleeding
piece of human heart?

it's easy to give in now
yet this may set the tone
for many years to come
when you'll be home alone

Factors That Compel

Everyone's getting married--
It seems to be the season.
Because "You're getting older"
Is sufficient reason.

Underneath it all
There may be something else.
Insecurity
And other factors that compel

Men to take the plunge
And women to yearn for it.
Perhaps "You're getting older"
And soon you may be buried.

..........................................

In China, a man carved his wife 6,000 steps for her to climb up and down a mountain more easily. The man has since passed away recently, but theirs is a story that is worth reading. (View a video about the couple here)

..........................................

I guess I'll write another piece about this topic at a later date.

his words were golden

his words were golden
as good as gold
see how they echo
in my mind as i grow old

for they were spoken
when i was younger
i did not heed them
but now i can listen

and in my mind's eye
i see a sunrise
beside a river
and he is there...

to take me home.

to hasadiqua

young, beautiful, and innocent-
the target of a selfish neighbour.
she cared not for you in heaven
by her insiduous labour.

indeed you did not accept
her religion as she said.
you bravely said with grace
that a jewess, you would die.

if you had but embraced the lie,
you would not have had to die.
you would not have lost your life;
by the swift swing of the scimitar.
